Once at the top of Ober Mountain, you will find a thrilling mountain adventure park with plenty of outdoor activities that are fun for visitors of all ages—from winter skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing, to year-round shopping and dining, indoor ice skating, ice bumper cars, and more. The activities located at the top are an additional fee. Enjoy a heart-racing adventure on the Tennessee Flyer Mountain Coaster. Visit rescued native animals at the Wildlife Encounter. Take a ride on the Smoky Mountain Bobsled and scenic chairlift. Bring your family and friends for an unforgettable day of downhill mountain biking and ziplining. Trams depart every 20 minutes from the Ober Mountain Tramway Mall in downtown Gatlinburg for the 10-minute journey up to the mountaintop.

Can I bring food or alcohol to Ober Mountain?

Outside food and alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the Aerial Tramway or Ober Mountain premises. Beer is available for consumption in Ober’s Snack bar, and alcoholic beverages are available in the Seasons of Ober Restaurant and The Loft Lounge.

Is Ober Mountain wheelchair accessible?

The Ober Mountain Aerial Tramway and most of the Ober Mountain Adventure Park and Ski Area are wheelchair/scooter accessible.

Does Ober Mountain rent strollers and wheelchairs?

Ober Mountain does not rent strollers or wheelchairs at this time.

Is parking available?

Paid parking is available downtown or on the mountain. Parking is one time in, one time out. Parking is not available for buses and oversized vehicles on weekends and holidays.

How often does the aerial tram leave?

The Ober Mountain Aerial Tramway departs every 15 minutes, taking you on a beautiful 10-minute, 2.1-mile ride between Ober Mountain Adventure Park and Ski Area on top of the mountain.

Is there an ATM located at Ober Mountain?

ATM machines are located in the Ober Gatlinburg Downtown Tramway Mall next to the River Road entrance, and in the Ober Gatlinburg Mall near the hallway entrance to the Ober’s Snackbar (ATM 1) and to the left of the Fudge Shop (ATM 2).

What is the pet policy at Ober Mountain?

Pets are not permitted in the Tramway Mall, the Aerial Tramway, or on any premises at Ober Mountain. Service animals for guests with disabilities are permitted on the Tram and most public areas. While Emotional Support Animals or Comfort Animals are often used as part of a medical treatment plan as therapy animals, they are not considered service animals under the ADA. Therefore, they are Not Permitted at Ober Mountain.

Where are the first aid stations?

Ober Mountain staffs the Operations Office with medical personnel during operating hours. The Operations Office is located at the end of the walkway near the Alpine Slide/Scenic Chairlift entrance. Additionally, the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Patrol is available during all slope hours in the winter months.

What activities are located at the top of the mountain?

Ober Mountain Adventure Park and Ski Area offers a variety of activities for all ages, including shopping and dining, indoor ice skating, Wildlife Encounter, Smoky Mountain Bobsled, scenic chairlift, winter skiing and snowboarding, snowtubing, summer tubing, a Rock Wall, Tennessee Flyer Mountain Coaster, downhill mountain biking, ziplining and more. Attractions are an additional cost. Refunds are not offered for the Ariel Tram Ride tickets for attraction closures at the top of the mountain.

Does it cost money to participate in the activities at the top of the mountain?

Yes, the activities are additional. While at Ober Mountain, you can upgrade your tram ticket to an All-Day Adventure Wristband if you choose. Wristbands are good for all activities, except mountain biking, ziplining and snow sports. Ages 4 and under are free for all activities with paying adult, unless restricted by size or age.

Is Ober Mountain open on holidays?

Yes, Ober Mountain is open every holiday, with extended hours on and around many of these holidays. The only exception is shorter hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but they are open both days.
